Activities
Out of Town Tours, Private Garden Tours and Workshops are among the many activities available to members and their guests.
Out of Town Tours are announced in the monthly newsletter and at the general meetings. You can sign up for tours at the general meetings or call Patte Williams, 209-505-3526 for more information.
Private Garden Tours are offered in the Spring and Fall months and are announced in the MGC newsletter or by email. $5 admission fee.
Workshops are planned for most months. These are fun, crafty and give you a chance to meet other members in a creative environment. You can view a sample of the next project at the general meetings and sign up at the Workshop table.
Luncheons
Members and their guests can enjoy a beautiful Luncheon every December and again in June with tables beautifully decorated by our own Club members.
The Elegant Holiday Luncheon is held in early December at the Del Rio Country Club. This spectacular event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season, have lunch with your friends, buy raffle tickets for awesome prizes, and see a multitude of creative ideas you might use to set your own holiday table. Tickets for the luncheon sell out early. They will be available at the November general meeting, the Garden Club office on Wednesday mornings, and here on the website. If you just want to view the beautiful tables, viewing tickets are available for $10 each.
The Summer Luncheon is held in early June, also at the Del Rio Country Club. Tickets for this luncheon sell out early. Again, tickets will be available at the May general meeting, the Garden Club office on Wednesday mornings, and here on the website. If you just want to view the beautiful tables, viewing tickets are available for $10 each.
Fundraisers
Our main fundraiser each year is the Spring Garden Tour in April. Seven or eight homes are on the tour, and each year surpasses the previous for gardens that amaze and inspire us. The Spring Garden Tour is held around the 3rd Saturday in April. Check this website for specific dates in the early Spring. Tickets are $25 each and will be available for purchase online as well as at general meetings or at the Club office.
About 1,300 guests view these beautiful gardens each year. Funds from the Garden Tour support our civic beautification projects as well as the six scholarships we give out annually to students continuing their education in horticulture-related majors.
